The Santa Monica Mountains Natural History Association (Association) was formed in 1981 by a group of California State Park employees and volunteers.
This association was formed to assist and support California State Parks in its vital role of public education about the outstanding natural and cultural resources of Point Mugu and Leo Carrillo State Parks. It has since expanded to include Point Dume State Preserve.
Today, the Association is an all-volunteer organization
working closely with State Parks to accomplish
its mission. Working in partnership with the State Parks,
the Association enables positive
visitor experiences that are not only educational,
but also memorable.
